Historical tours round the old town of Malgrat de Mar and inland to the castle at Palafolls are popular day trips. As for days out, there are a number of interesting places to visit in the area, including the historical castle at Palafolls, the Marine land dolphinarium at Blanes and the amazing monastery perched high on the mountain of Montserrat. Alternatively, hop on the train to Barcelona, where you can marvel at the stunning Gaudi architecture and enjoy a cup of coffee and some people watching in the charming Las Ramblas district.
