Benalmadena
Benalmadena attracts visitors of all ages. It has over 8 kilometres of blue flag beaches, which range from busy popular beaches with sun loungers and shades available for rent to small coves where you can enjoy relaxing peace and quiet. The marina is the focal point for Benalmadena's social scene and is central to the resort. You can walk along the promenade all the way to Torremolinos with plenty of bars and restaurants along the way. There is no shortage of accommodation in Benalmadena with a wide range of hotels and Self Catering apartments to suit every pocket.
Estepona
Estepona is a traditionally Spanish town, which hasn’t been over commercialised. It has maintained its unique charm and character despite a big tourist influx but yet offers all the tourist facilities you could wish for. A beautiful port is surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants offering traditional Spanish delicacies. You will also find unusual shops and bodegas along with a market on Sunday mornings. If you are looking for traditional Spain with a welcoming atmosphere Estepona is a place well worth visiting.
Fuengirola
The friendly tourist hot spot of Fuengirola is probably most famous for its five miles of sandy beaches, spread the whole length of the resort. You can stroll along one of the longest promenades on the Costa’s, which has a fine selection of bars and restaurants and is ideal for the popular past time of promenading, a Spanish leisure activity of ambling along the fabulous promenade, with no particular destination in mind! Although catering for all age groups it is probably most popular with families and middle aged couples than with the younger crowd.
Marbella
Glitzy Marbella is the most stylish resort on the Costa del Sol. It is world renowned for its wealthy residents, excellent golf and tennis facilities plus its world famous marina at Purto Banus with expensive shops and restaurants. The old town is a quaint pedestrian district of tiny squares and whitewashed house. Modern Marbella has designer boutiques lining the streets and fantastic promenade and chic nightlife buzzing with alfresco bars, piano clubs and discos, which are open dusk until dawn.
Mijas
Mijas is one of the jewels of the Costa del Sol. Lying just west of Malaga the area is spilt into two district areas, Mijas Costa which is a bustling beachfront resort and Mijas Pueblo which must rate as one of the prettiest villages in Spain. Quaint can only last so long after a place has been discovered however Mijas has retained its old world charm and has a reputation as a holiday spot for the more discerning tourist.
Nerja
Nerja is the Costa del Sol's most easterly resort. Originally a sleepy fishing village it is now a thriving resort but has managed to retain much of its original character and charm. Nerja has several beaches set in charming coves beneath cliffs and one of the best climates in Europe. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing. The heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcon de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a cliff with amazing panoramic views of the Mediterranean. However, Nerja's most spectacular attraction is undoubtedly its fascinating caves, located just three kilometres from the centre of town. Nerja has much to offer for food lovers there is a large range of restaurants where you can sample local specialities such as fried fish and paella. You can find a selection of highly recommended hotels and apartments available to suit all budgets.
Puerto Banus
Marbella’s close neighbour is Puerto Banus, famous for it's picturesque marina filled with multi-million dollar yachts. Puerto Banus has more than it's fair share of pubs, world-renowned nightlife, restaurants, world-class shopping and casino facilities. Many illustrious visitors have passed through it, including the King and Queen of Spain, General Franco, Nobel Prize winner Camilo Jose Cela, and Princess Grace of Monaco, among others. Puerto Banus' yearly visitors are estimated at over 4 million. It is not however just for the rich and famous but also for holidaymakers ranging from high-flying businessmen to families looking for a relaxing time away, with plenty of sunshine.
Torremolinos
Torremolinos is one of the regions largest and most popular resorts. Its two golden beaches Playamar and Bajondillo have earned a reputation for being the best on the Costa, both offer safe swimming and all sorts of water sports. A great range of shops, masses of bars and restaurants and an exhausting nightlife, the resort attracts tourists of all ages from all over Europe. For families there is also plenty to do, the Aquapark, located only 10 minutes from the centre of Torremolinos, has Europe’s largest water-slide and is a great attraction for children - and grown-ups who are still young at heart. There is also a crocodile park, the long-established Tivoli World plus much more.
