Most of the restaurants can be found along the main street of the resort, and around the area of the old town, although there are other areas that now have groups of restaurants and cafes appearing. The restaurants in the tourist areas will often have someone outside who will try to persuade you to eat in their establishment but a polite “no” is all that is required if the restaurant doesn’t take your fancy. You will find that there are Chinese, Indian, Italian and fast food restaurants scattered throughout the resort as well as smaller places that serve traditional food of the Island.

If you are looking for something more relaxed then head towards the pedestrianised area at the northern end of the main Avenida which has many open-air bars and restaurants, as well as a few small bars where you can hear Latin and Spanish music. A lot of the hotels also have their own bars and animation teams for all ages to ensure that you have a fun filled holiday. Fuerteventura is a lot quieter than any of the other Canary Islands and the nightlife does reflect this, although there are still plenty of bars open until quite late at night.
